Flag Day

Did you know the first flag day was on June 14, 1885? I sure didn’t. I told you I was becoming a bit of a history buff. We go through everyday life and celebrate what ever holiday happens to come along just to have something to celebrate but for some reason I have a need to know why we celebrate some of these holidays. You’ll hear people say ‘What can I do about anything? I’m just one person.’
Well, one person, who was a 19 year old teacher, placed a 10 inch, 38 star flag in a bottle on his desk and assigned an essay on the flag and it’s significance. Something that simple did make a difference and still does today. Amazing!
