Green-collar jobs

On May 26th, Time Magazine wrote a very interesting article on ‘Green-collar’ jobs.  A green-collar job is supposed to help fight global warming, clean up the environment and create a whole new sector of jobs for the job market.  Sounds pretty good, huh?

Well to quote Time Magazine:  “Academics have released lots of studies trumpeting the potential for green jobs - one report by the RAND Corporation and University of Tennessee found that if 25% of all American energy were produced from renewable sources by 2025, we would generate at least 5 million new green jobs. But there are just a few questions: what is green-collar? What makes it different from blue- or white-collar? And where will those jobs come from?”

It seems that Phil Angelides might have at least one answer.  He is the chair of Apollo Alliance, which consists of business, labor and environmental groups.  I found this article to be very informative and thought provoking.  Perhaps you will to when you check it out.
