Something to think about
The next time you hear a politician use the word ‘billion’ in a casual manner, think about whether you want the ‘politician’ spending your tax money. A ‘billion’ is a difficult number to comprehend but one advertising agency did a pretty good of job of putting that number into perspective so that we could understand easier in one of it’s releases.
A billion seconds ago, it was 1959. A billion hours ago, our ancestors were living in the stone age. A billion days ago, no one walked on earth on two feet, but a billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes ago at the rate our government is spending our tax dollars. With the economy like it is right now, $50 is a lot of money to most people but a billion dollars seems to be thrown around like pocket change. I just hope who ever we elect in the next presidential election has a handle on what a billion of our hard earned dollars is worth.
