I was talking with my neighbor about the accident he was involved in the left him disabled.  See he was in a car accident about a year ago and suffered a head trauma when someone ran a stop sign and hit him kind of T bone like on his side of the vehicle.  He was in the hospital for about 6 months.  Well the last 2 were in a rehab place to help teach him to walk, feed himself and even walk again.  It was a terrible tragedy especially since he has a family. 

He was telling me that he had just gotten a settlement from the whole nightmare.  It was one of those structured settlementswhere he gets so much money each month for so many months.  That’s all well and fine but with all that the whole family went through, the strain on their finances was unbelievable.  They have three children and his wife worked all she could to keep the family going for that year or so after his accident.  She had to borrow money from several relatives to keep the family going and not lose everything.

He was telling me how he wished he hadn’t agreed for the settlement to be structured like that.  He wished he would have just told them to give the whole settlement right then.  I was telling him about how he could get cash for a settlement like that.  He thought he was stuck with the settlement the way it was set up.  Well now he is checking into it and hopefully he will be able to pay off all the relatives that helped his family so much in their time of need.

I bet most of you have heard about Tim McGraw and his unruly fan.  I have a new respect for him after seeing what he did to the guy he saw roughing up a woman on the front row of a concert he was performing in Washington. 

Just in case you haven’t see it, he stopped singing and reached out to the guy telling him to stop but apparently the guy didn’t listen.  At that point, Tim attempted to pull the guy up onstage with him.  A couple of security guards came and helped him since the guy probably outweighed Tim by about 50 pounds or more.  Once onstage with Tim, the guy must have said something Tim didn’t like because Tim pulled back to pop the guy but then told the security men to remove the guy from the stadium right then.  Tim then turned around and went on singing “I ain’t looking for trouble” from his song ‘Indian outlaw.’  Good job Tim.

I have a cousin in LA.  Her husbands brother got into a bit of a jam.  She was telling me about California Criminal Defense Blog | Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorneys and how much that helped him with his mess.  The reason she told me about it is because there are some things on there that don’t only have to do with LA or even California.  There’s stuff about Louisiana and other states too.  She knows I’m sort of interested in some aspects of the law and thought I might find something interesting there.

 Darn it, I woke up at 5 am and just couldn’t go back to sleep.  I’m so used to getting up at 5 that I can’t seem to get out of the habit yet since I don’t really have to be now until about 6 am.  Hopefully I will soon.  I know it’s only been a couple weeks since my schedule changed but you would think I would be used to it after a week of it.   Hopefully it’s going to change soon and I’ll get used to it and quit getting up every single day at 5 am.  Oh well, such is life!!!

My best friend has been married to his wife for 9 years.  They have always had sort of a stressed marriage anyway but now they are really in trouble.  In fact, I’m afraid they are about to separate.  I think they’re sleeping in separate bedrooms.  The worst part of all of it is they have two of the cutest little girls that are 2 and 5 years old.  Both of them are Daddy’s girls too.  It’s so sad when a family is in trouble.

   I suggested they check out  a marriage therapist and there wasn’t anything wrong with asking for help at all.  It’s a blog site where you can hear from other couples that might be going through the same things you are going through.  I know it’s sort of an alternative counseling method but sometimes all it takes is to realize you aren’t the only ones going through whatever is wrong.  Now they just need to talk  it over to be sure they both want this to work.  I don’t think don’t think either of them really wants their marriage to end.  He has even spoken with me about how much he loves her and wants to work everything out for not only them, but their daughters too.
