Another gully washer

Well that makes two days in a row that we have had a good old fashioned ‘gulley washer’ as they used to call them in the south.  I would not be surprised to find out it rained about 2 inches in just an hour.  It was raining so hard that you could barely see the road from inside the house.  We have needed a lot of rain and we have done far better than expected lately.  My yard is happy and so is my garden and flowers.  The extra work the rain brings with it doesn’t make me too happy but we do need the water so I guess you have to take the good with the bad.

I love Seafood

I guess if I had to choose a particular favorite food, it would be seafood.  You name it, I love it.  Well other than oysters and I’m allergic to them so NO OYSTERS FOR ME.  Anything else, yummy.  I like it fried, I like if put on the grill, I like baked, I just like it.  Snow crab legs dipped in butter are a favorite too.

One of my favorite shows is The Great American Cook Off. I would love to see them Cook off on grilled Tuna. I like to place a Tuna steak or most any thick slice of fish in foil, add a little salt, pepper, butter, a slice of sweet onion and a few lemon slices, place it on the grill and leave it for about 15 to 20 minutes over medium heat.  Sometimes I will even put a little Carolina Treat Barbecue sauce on it with a little butter too.  It steams the flavor of the sauce into the fish.  I can’t wait to see what they are going to come up with for the fresh local seafood we get here.  Not only is it good but it’s really good for you too.

Send me any seafood recipes that are your favorites too so I can try them.

Grandfathers toy

I don’t remember my grandfather ever riding a motorcycle but have seen pictures of the many bikes he had.  Here is one of his favorite.  It was a Harley Davidson with a side car so he could take my aunt and uncle riding who were pretty little then.  The picture is old and faded but you can still see the ride.  Listen and you might even be able to hear it rumble.  It was a police special and had the suicide shifter on it when he got it.  He converted it to a foot shifter.  I have heard many stories about this bike.  Oh that’s his other toy in the background, his boat.  You know what they say about men and boys and their toys.

On my feet a lot

I’m on my feet a lot at work.  By the end of the day, my poor feet are killing me.  I had thought about getting one of those foot bath messages that you can buy most anywhere but found something even better.  It’s an ionic detox foot bath spa from Reliable Remedies that not only soothes your aching feet but also detoxifies your body too.  Stress of every day life just seem to go away once you place your feet in the warm water and feel the release of all the toxins that have built up in your body.  I feel like a new man afterwards and so does Sweetie when she uses it.

Speaking of fish

This is my nephew who is only 6 years old.  He went fishing in a pond behind his grandmothers house and caught quite a surprise.  This bass weighs about 6 or 7 pounds.  He caught it totally by himself too.  He’s quite the little fisherman, don’t you think?  I haven’t even caught a bass that big.
