Poor Sweetie

It hasn’t been that long ago since my auto air conditioning went out and I had to fix it.  Well as if Sweetie doesn’t have enough on her mind lately, the air conditioning compressor went out in her car yesterday and it was almost 90 degrees.  She came in all upset that it was going to cost a fortune to have it fixed but I told her to order the auto ac parts and I could fix it for her just like I fixed mine.  The shipping is free and the parts come with a warranty so there’s nothing to worry about.  The parts should come today and I’ll have it fixed in time for it to cool down outside but that’s okay.

Looking to turbocharge my car

You have heard the saying ‘The only difference between men and boys is the size and price of their toys’ I bet.  Well it’s true I have to admit.  I do love my toys.  I also like to go fast so I’m looking into buying an audi turbo for my car.

I couldn’t decide if I wanted a turbocharger or a supercharger and wasn’t really sure of the difference.  Well I found out from their site the main difference is in the power supply.  This site even helps you decide what you really need for you car.  They explain the advantages and disadvantages of both the turbocharger and supercharger.  I think I’ll go with the supercharger.

If you’re looking for more power, check into these guys.  They have everything you need to make your car run better and run faster too.

Gas is finally flowing again

I don’t know if the rest of you felt the gas crunch after Hurricane Ike hit Texas but we sure did.  There wasn’t very much gas available in our area until just recently.  It was really getting hard to find a gas station with any gas at all.  Then some of the gas stations that did have gas were charging up to $4.45 a gallon for regular gas, not premium.  Premium was almost $5 a gallon.  That was totally uncalled for if you ask me.  Our governor is looking into price gouging at a lot of gas stations.  It’s a shame people see someone else’s misery as a way to make some extra money but it happens all the time and not only with gas.  At least now it’s easing up and the prices are starting to fall back again.

New bridge for Minneapolis

Well they opened the new bridge on I 35W in Minneapolis Minnesota today.  It was built to replace the bridge that collapsed last year and killed 13 people.  It’s hard to imagine that something like that could have happened but it did.  One good thing came out of it, it made our federal and state authorities start checking all the other older bridges to try and keep something like that from happening again.  Hopefully it won’t.

A fire engine and ambulance were first across on each side.  In each direction, a line of State Highway Patrol cars was followed by a formation of Department of Transportation construction trucks.  A cluster of awaiting vehicles went honking across for a few minutes, then traffic returned to the more typical of that time of day.  The September 18 opening was well ahead of the scheduled December 24 goal, earning the contractor, Flatiron-Manson, up to $19.6 million in performance bonuses.  Not too bad huh?  Wish I could get a bonus like that for completing a job early but all I get is a ‘good job’ and a pat on the back.  Guess I can’t complain because I don’t have to work as hard as those guys did.

School’s back in

Well it’s the first Saturday since schools started and you would think the kids had been held captive all week long.  They’re everywhere more than I have seen them in the past three weeks before school started back.  I guess they were getting bored and staying inside until they had to go back to school.  Now they’re at every basketball court, playground and fast food restaurant around.

I think it might have something to do with they’re like the rest of us and realizing that the weather will be changing pretty soon and we’ll be stuck inside for sure once old man winter shows his ugly head.  Oh well, they better enjoy it while they can I guess.  I know I did when I was in school.  I sure wish I was back in high school, not really!!!
