Jim Mathers

British drummer in the 1960s band The Jimi Hendrix Experience Mitch Mitchell, has been found dead in his US hotel room.  The 61-year-old was discovered in the Benson Hotel in Portland, Oregon, in the early hours of Wednesday.  A medical examiner told the Associated Press news agency that his death appeared to be from natural causes, but said there would be an autopsy.

As most of us know, Jimi Hendrix died in 1970 and the band’s bassist Noel Redding died in 2003.  Mitchell, from Ealing in west London, had been touring with the Experience Hendrix Tour.  What a shame but at least it was from natural causes.  At least we didn’t lose another to drugs like we did so many other.  Jimi for one.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Boy have I found a site that is absolutely great for blogers.  It’s full of beautiful blog pictures that are free for you to use anytime you want in your blogs.  Nothing makes a blog more interesting than a beautiful picture to go with whatever you are bloging about.  All you have to do is create an account and they will send you an email with a password so you can start browsing through all the pictures.  I’m pretty sure you could find just about any type of picture you might want.

You don’t have to resize it like we sometimes have to do in order to make it fit in the blog correctly.  You don’t even have to do anything special at all because they’re already set up so that they will go straight to your blog and look great.  I hate it when you try to put a picture in your blog and it comes out fuzzy or has a bunch of lines in it that make it look distorted.

If you’re writing about how beautiful the autumn leaves are, it makes it even better to add a picture that reflects those beautiful leaves to help them to see what you’re talking about.  What do you think?

My buddy on the police force needs some new gear.  I told him about the 5.11 Flashlight that he can find online.  This site has just about anything a police officer would need to stay safe and well equipped.  I would hate to lost a buddy just because he didn’t have all the equipment he needs.  In fact, I think I’ll find out something he needs and get it for him for his birthday on the 19th.  I can’t think of anything better to get him.

The same day that Guns N Roses new album,  “Chinese Democracy” finally hits store shelves, soft drink lovers can login to Dr Pepper’s Web site and register to be mailed a coupon for a free 20-ounce bottle of Dr. Pepper.  Registration for the coupon lasts just 24 hours, and the deadline for redeeming it is next February.  They sure aren’t giving people much time to get the coupon, are they?

Anyway, Dr Pepper vowed in March to offer every American a free soda if “Chinese Democracy” was released at any point in 2008 - since it has had numerous rumored release dates.  Sounds to me like the head guy for Dr. Pepper is a Guns N Roses fan, ya think.  Only problem is I don’t like Dr. Pepper.  Oh well, I might get a coupon anyway and give it to someome that does.
