Now what to write about

There’s nothing worse than staring at a blank piece of paper or a blank screen for an hour and nothing coming to mind to write about.  I guess that’s called writers block by some but I call it annoying.  All I need is one little line, one little thought to get the juices flowing and put the ideas down on paper but they’re stuck somewhere in that gray matter we call a brain.

Sometimes all it takes is to step outside for a moment and then other times, it takes walking away from the computer or blank paper to jog something.  Then sometimes, all it takes is jabbering about not having anything to write about and all of a sudden you realize you did have something to say.  See!!!!!

Something wrong with this picture

Brad and Angelina welcomed their new twins into the world this week.  But you know, there’s something wrong with this picture.  They have been offered $12 million for the first picture of the babies.  I guess that’s $3 million for each Angelina, Brad and the two babies.  There’s something fundamentally wrong with a world that will allow it’s own citizens to go hungry, face foreclosures and rising gas prices but will pay that much money for a picture of 2 babies.  Most people have to pay for their pictures of their babies.  Congratulations to them but unless they do something good for others with that money, I have no respect for them taking money for producing babies.  I’m sorry but that’s just my opinion.

Economy is in trouble

Every day we hear more and more about how the bad the economy is getting.  People are losing their homes left and right to foreclosure, gas keeps rising, food is going higher and higher and I just don’t know where it’s all going to stop.  I’m sure there are a lot of people who are in over their heads.  I am lucky in that my debt isn’t much.  I do have a credit card that when I do use it, I don’t use it again until I pay off whatever I charged on it.  Sometimes that’s hard to do for some people.

Too many people are having to think about or even check into bankruptcy. There are places like Abacus Debt Management that will help you to manage your debt but not enough people use them. I think it’s sort of like they’re afraid to turn over their financial affairs to someone they don’t know.  But see here’s the thing, places like them might not stop someone from filing bankruptcy but they can help them to manage their debt better and not have to file bankruptcy.  It’s worth looking into if you’re having trouble with your bills, don’t you think?  I do.

Tough market

Boy is the housing market tough or what?  There’s a lady in Florida that has been trying to sell her 4 bedroom house in South Florida for a year.  She’s also been a single Mom for 8 years.  Get this now, she’s now trying to sell her house and she goes with the house.  Excuse me?  Isn’t that just a step away from sort of prostitution?  She says she’ll marry who ever buys her house IF they hit it off.  She tried to put the ‘package deal’ on Ebay and they kicked her off saying you can’t sell a person or body parts on Ebay.  She’s trying to figure out another way to get it back on there.  There are some ‘desperate housewives’ out there I guess.  That just tells me that it’s as hard to sell a house as it is to find a mate.  Sad world we live in.

What’s up with Charlotte NC?

I have a friend that lives in North Carolina not too far from Charlotte.  They asked everyone to conserve water.  The good people of Charlotte North Carolina stepped up to the plate and hit a home run.  They went well under what the city had asked them to and to reward them for all the good work they did saving water, they raised their water bills.  SAY WHAT?  Check it out for yourself at http://www.wsoctv.com/news/15828676/detail.html.  Totally  unbelievable.  The rate hike went into affect in May.

POSTED: 3:01 pm EDT May 1, 2008

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - You’ll start paying more for water on Thursday if you live in Charlotte.

City council approved the rate hike in April.

The 15 percent increase will cost an average family $6 a month.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities Department said it needed to raise rates because people are using less water and they have less money coming in.
