Well that makes two days in a row that we have had a good old fashioned ‘gulley washer’ as they used to call them in the south.  I would not be surprised to find out it rained about 2 inches in just an hour.  It was raining so hard that you could barely see the road from inside the house.  We have needed a lot of rain and we have done far better than expected lately.  My yard is happy and so is my garden and flowers.  The extra work the rain brings with it doesn’t make me too happy but we do need the water so I guess you have to take the good with the bad.

It has been so hot lately that this Sunday morning, Sweetie and I are just planning on staying inside and being lazy all day.  There’s plenty of movies we have in our collection that we haven’t watched or haven’t seen for quite a while so our day will consist of sitting on the couch, watching movies unless something better comes up.  It was a long hot week so a day to recover is much needed.

Well here it is another Monday.  Sweetie and I had a great weekend but it’s back to the old grind stone as they used to say.  I’m working from home today and thought I would just add a thought I had.  I’m thinking about marriage.  No I haven’t told Sweetie yet but I am thinking about it more and more.  She’s the light of my life, my sunshine in the midst of a storm, my love of my life.  The thought of marriage is a scary one for me since I have seen so many fail but I really think we have a chance.  I’ll keep you posted on the progress of this possible new direction for us.  Have a great week.  I hope Sweetie doesn’t read this before I make a decision.

We just had the most perfect day and it couldn’t have been better if I had custom ordered it.  A bunch of us got together and went to a local lake on a friend’s pontoon and had a blast.  We fished, (I caught the biggest one) we played music, we laughed and we just had a great time.  It wasn’t too hot or humid.  I’m telling you it was a perfect day.  There’s nothing better than being on the water, sunshine, and good friends and I had it all today including my lady by my side.  Awesome day!!!!

I have a friend that lives in North Carolina not too far from Charlotte.  They asked everyone to conserve water.  The good people of Charlotte North Carolina stepped up to the plate and hit a home run.  They went well under what the city had asked them to and to reward them for all the good work they did saving water, they raised their water bills.  SAY WHAT?  Check it out for yourself at http://www.wsoctv.com/news/15828676/detail.html.  Totally  unbelievable.  The rate hike went into affect in May.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - You’ll start paying more for water on Thursday if you live in Charlotte.

City council approved the rate hike in April.

The 15 percent increase will cost an average family $6 a month.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities Department said it needed to raise rates because people are using less water and they have less money coming in.
